Sika's UK Roofing Division has
successfully completed the renewal of four product sets under
the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI). Hotmelt
Structural Waterproofing, Liquid Applied Roofing, Reinforced
Bitumen Membrane, and Single Ply Roofing Systems were
reassessed to confirm that Sika Roofing continues to meet the
Code’s requirements for providing product information
integrity. In 2023, these Sika product systems became
one of the first product sets in the UK to carry the CCPI
mark, helping to provide greater confidence to specifiers and
users that Sika’s product information is clear, accurate,
accessible, up-to-date and unambiguous. |
 |
| The independent
review examined how Sika’s product information is created,
controlled, maintained and presented to their internal and
external stakeholders. Documented processes for product
information creation, applying clear and accurate wording,
with full version control, and providing traceable evidence
for performance data and certifications were just some of the
criteria required to support the renewal. |
| Gavin White, Head of
Product Management for Roofing commented: “The CCPI is an
ongoing commitment to responsible communication. At Sika
Roofing we have robust processes to ensure our product
information is accurate, regularly reviewed, and accessible.
This helps our customers and partners make informed decisions
based on reliable data. The Code supports the industry’s move
toward greater clarity and accountability, and we are pleased
to continue meeting its requirements.” |
| The Code for
Construction Product Information (CCPI) was created to promote
an urgent and positive culture and behaviour change in the way
the construction product manufacturing industry manages and
provides information and marketing on their products. The CCPI
was initiated by the Construction Product Association (CPA) as
a direct response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of Building
Regulations and Fire Safety set up in the wake of the Grenfell
Tower tragedy. |
| Sika Roofing’s
compliance journey also involved a detailed review of
leadership and culture, documented management systems, and
independent verification against the Code’s principles and the
principles of the Building Safety Act. This reflects Sika’s
long-standing approach to transparency, traceability and
actively participating in CCPI-registered product information
for a more trustworthy and accountable landscape across the
built environment. |
