| The
world’s most sustainable single ply roofing membrane,
Rhepanol fk, is now available in white from SIG Design &
Technology, as a special application for solar panelled
roofs. |
 |
|
White throughout its molecular structure, the membrane has
an ultra-reflective surface resulting in a 90.4% solar
reflective value. This helps to maximise the efficiency of
the solar panel as the sun’s rays, through reflection,
strike the generator from underneath, as well as from above. |
|
White Rhepanol is permanently
resistant to UV radiation and, due to its higher anti-slip
friction co-efficient panels can be installed with a greater
pitch – up to 9.5 degrees – than other membranes. |
|
Free from halogen or
plasticizers and made from 70 per cent natural materials,
Rhepanol fk is suitable for over-roofing as it’s compatible
with bitumen too. |
|
SIG D & T supplies a PV system
designed especially for flat roofs on commercial and
industrial buildings. |
|
SOLYNDRA® PV is made up of tubes
sheathed in copper-indium-gallium-diselenide (CIGS) solar
cells – one of the most efficient on the market. |
|
The 360 degree photovoltaic
surface provides for the power conversion of direct,
diffused and reflected sunlight. |
|
For ease of installation, the PV
solar system is lightweight and facilitates optimal wind
load so there is usually no need for additional fastening,
weighting or roof penetrations. |
|
The tubes also make the most of
every bit of sunlight, whether it’s cloudy, dusk, dawn or
blazing sunshine. |
|
SIG D & T trading director, Mike
Crook says: “21st century building technology
allows the roof to work harder. White Rhepanol and Solyndra
have been specially selected to work hand in glove, to
maximise energy capture via the fifth elevation.” |
