Sandtoft's Cassius clay roof tile has been selected for the
refurbishment of 120 houses on the Ayton Court Estate in the
North East of England. |
 |
|
Coast and Country Housing, the largest social landlord in
Redcar and Cleveland, is replacing existing concrete tiles
with Cassius to give the properties a more aesthetic
appearance. |
|
Andy Moss, buyer at Coast and
Country Housing, said: "After reviewing a number of
different products, we chose the Cassius as we felt it
offered the most authentic slate appearance. |
|
"The A+ rating in the BRE Green
Guide made the Cassius a suitable solution as it fitted in
perfectly with our environmental strategy. |
|
"We were also impressed by its
large format, interlocking design, which makes the tiles
very easy to fix. In addition, the Cassius is lighter than
concrete tiles, which is ideal for roof refurbishment
projects as it reduces the need to change structural
design." |
|
Sandtoft has also provided Coast
and Country Housing with its unique Roof SPEC(r) package.
This provides a guarantee that the roofs will remain
weathertight for 20 years and comply with all relevant
building standards and best practices. |
|
"The Roof SPEC guarantee is a
major benefit for us," continued Andy. "It provides extra
reassurance that the roofs are of the highest quality. For
our tenants, it also minimises the risk of any future
disruption caused by maintenance or repair." |
