Leading roof tile manufacturer Sandtoft is celebrating its
involvement in an award winning new build project. The
company supplied its Cassius tiles to Eaglesgate in Yarm - a
development of mixed properties which recently won the
coveted Best Townhouse category in The 21st Century Living
Awards. |
 |
|
Craig Peterson from Carlton Exclusive, the builders behind
Eaglesgate, explains: “Staged by two of the North East’s
leading newspapers, The Journal and The Evening Gazette, the
21st Century Living Awards are now a key event in the
region’s construction calendar. Attracting entries from most
of the major housebuilders and an increasing number of small
companies, their purpose is to recognise excellence and to
set new benchmarks for the industry to aspire to.” |
|
“As such, for us to scoop the
Best Townhouse award is a real testament to the people, the
build quality and the materials employed at Eaglesgate –
Cassius included.” |
|
Carlton Exclusive chose Cassius
for the scheme on the edge of Eaglescliffe, a cosmopolitan
Tees Valley town, for a number of important reasons. Cassius
offered the apartments and townhouses immediate kerb appeal,
guaranteed durability and lasting aesthetics, as the roofs
will age naturally without fading because Cassius is made
from natural clay. Equally, its large format, interlocking
design and ‘open-gauge’ made Cassius as quick and easy to
install as a concrete tile |
|
Craig Peterson continues: “At
Carlton, we pride ourselves on attention to detail in terms
of material choice. It’s what sets us apart and it has been
instrumental in our extensive track record of awards success
to date. We employed this same approach at Eaglesgate, and
specifying Cassius allowed us to maintain the strong
aesthetics of the properties and in a highly cost effective
way thanks to its impressive fixing efficiencies.” |
|
Also commenting on the
development and its award winning success, Sandtoft’s Sales
and Marketing Director, Nick Oldridge said: “We’re delighted
to have been a part of a project which has gone on to gain
wider recognition for its levels of excellence. The
Eaglesgate development also demonstrates that Cassius is
changing the way housebuilders think about clay – like all
the products in Sandtoft’s New Generation range, it
challenges the widely held belief that using natural
materials always means paying a premium.” |
