FOAMGLAS® manufacturer Pittsburgh Corning now provides
architects with a state-of-the-art Tapered Roof System
service for flat roofs free of charge. Suitable for new
build or refurbishment projects, the new value added
insulation system provides roof falls without the need for
screeding. The new system also helps architects eliminate
potential problems of drainage from flat roofs. |
 |
| In
any flat roof construction, water needs to be directed
quickly and effectively towards drainage points. Pittsburgh
Corning's advanced CAD system ensures optimum efficiency for
any roof system - however simple or complex. |
|
Designed to provide an effective
and economical alternative to screed-to-fall systems, which
result in increased time and labour - the Tapered Roof
System saves both time and weight. |
|
The process is simple and
practical for the architect, who will receive a budget
estimate based on an average thickness. Once the dimensional
data and drainage outlets are confirmed, an outline plan is
supplied to allow for more detailed quotations. On receipt
of order, Pittsburgh Corning will issue detailed plans that
show individual block positions, thicknesses and block types
in both printed and CAD formats. |
|
Part of the new service is
designed to provide on-site support in terms of initial
training for installation teams that are unfamiliar with
FOAMGLAS® products or who have limited experience in Tapered
insulation. |
|
The new system ensures that all
elements are fully compatible and when bonded together
provide a weatherproof roof for a continuous performance
that will last the lifetime of the building. |

FOAMGLAS® cellular glass
insulation is widely used for roofing applications due to
wide range of performance advantages. Manufactured from 68%
recycled glass, FOAMGLAS® comprises millions of hermetically
sealed glass cells and offers high compressive strength. As
its only solid constituent is glass, it is completely inert,
non-combustible, waterproof and impervious to the effects of
moisture. |
