Kingspan Insulated Panels donated its KS1000 RW trapezoidal
roofing system and Kingspan Polycarb Rooflights for the
refurbishment of Middle Park Community Centre, Eltham in
association with Children in Need. |
 |
| The
managers of Middle Park Community Centre, Lin and Pat, have
been working tirelessly for the past 27 years, over 12-15
hour days to provide a hub for the whole community which
offers activities and support for up to 150 children
everyday. |
|
However, after all these years
the centre was no longer in the best of condition and
Children in Need has undertaken the renovation in
recognition of the important role the centre plays in the
community. |
|
A spokesperson from the BBC said
“The roof repairs needed for the centre were of a major
concern to the project as the old roof was leaking heavily
and the children had been described as dancing around
buckets!” |
|
“It is thanks to companies like
Kingspan who have kindly donated materials that enabled us
to make a success of this project and provide the community
with a safe and enjoyable place to be.” |

KS1000 RW trapezoidal roofing
panels offer high thermal performance with U-values as low
as 0.16 W/m2.K and low air leakage, making a
significant contribution towards achieving excellent energy
efficiency. Furthermore, these panels are highly durable and
can help to ensure reliable high levels of thermal
performances into the long term. |
|
Kingspan Polycarb Rooflights
offer an efficient way of getting daylight into a building
without compromising the strength or thermal performance of
the roof and do not discolour over time. They are 100%
recyclable, and all off cuts produced in the manufacturing
process are recycled. |
|
Kingspan KS1000 RW insulated
panels has an ECOsafe insulation core, containing no CFC’s
or HCFC’s with a low Global Warming Potential, achieves an
“A+” rating according to the Green Guide to Specification
and is available in FIREsafe LPCB insurer-approved form for
assured fire performance. It is also fibre-free, removing
the risk of loose fibres being released into the internal
environment. The panels are delivered to site stacked ‘crown
up’ without the need for any additional protective
packaging, reducing the waste on site and overall
environmental impact. |

The roof panels are also covered
by the Kingspan Total Guarantee, offering thermal and
structural performance guarantee. |
