| The
Floral Pavilion development in New Brighton is being filmed
by two webcams to allow fans of the theatre and those
interested in the complex structure to view the development
24/7. Camera one focuses on the construction as a whole,
while camera two focuses specifically on the intricate roof. |
 |
|
The roof is designed to look
like the bow of a ship cutting through the waves. The
illusion has been realised thanks to Euroclad’s standing
seam system. Part of the company’s Elite Systems, Euroseam
is usually supplied in 0.9mm gauge aluminium, a highly
weatherable material ideally suited to applications in
demanding environments. |
|
The Floral Pavilion Theatre has
been demolished to make way for an exciting new development
which will include a new £11.5m theatre and conference
centre, scheduled to open in November 2008. |
|
With the building set on a
seafront location, contractors needed a roofing material
which would withstand the extreme elements of strong winds
and salty air. Mill Finish Aluminium is particularly suited
to this job as it develops its own layer of oxidation as a
unique form of protection when exposed to the elements.
|
|
The standing seam roof sheets
were produced on-site, saving time and avoiding transport
difficulties. Euroclad also supplied fabrications and
flashings to ensure that the roof remains watertight and to
achieve a clean, attractive finish. |
