Leading access doors and vents manufacturer Bilco has
completed delivery of 11 steel one hour fire rated floor
doors for a prison in Scotland. |
 |
| The
prison ordered four JFR-2 doors, which are 760 mm x 760 mm,
and seven JFR-7 doors, which are 915 mm x 1,220 mm. The
doors are used internally for emergency exits from the
staircases. |
| The
doors were specially modified to prevent them being used as
a means of escape except in an emergency. For security
reasons, Bilco has been asked not to identify the prison
where the doors are fitted. |
|
Simon Shand-Brown, sales &
marketing manager at Bilco, said: "These one hour fire doors
comply with BS476 part 22 and are coated with an intumescent
layer to the interior surfaces of the frame. They are
engineered to provide smooth, easy and controlled
operation." |
|
Features that come as standard
on all fire doors include a positive hold open arm that
engages automatically when the door leaf is fully open,
heavy duty hinges and a stainless steel slam lock with
removable top-side handle. |
|
JFR floor doors have a steel
diamond pattern cover constructed from 6 mm steel and built
to withstand a 1,464 kg/mē live load. Installation is quick
and simple as the unit is supplied fully assembled ready for
rebating into the floor area. |
|
All fire doors are covered by a
five year warranty. |
|
In addition to fire doors Bilco
manufactures a range of pit and floor doors, as well as
floor access covers, roof hatches and smoke vents. |
