A complete package of roofing and rainwater
solutions from Alumasc has been chosen for a new
state-of-the-art secondary school in Nottingham. |

| The Becket
School, based on a 12,000m2 campus, features the
latest facilities for over 1000 pupils, including science
laboratories, technical workshops and a sports centre, all
designed to put the school at the forefront of education for
the 21st century. |
|
A single source supplier was required for the roofing package and
Alumasc was the only manufacturer able to supply a multi-product
offer, with the added support of an approved installer network. The
final specification included Alumasc’s Skyline aluminium fascias and
soffits, Armaseam metal roofing, Guardian security rainwater pipes
and Derbigum single layer waterproofing, all of which were installed
by Everlast Waterproofing of Leeds. |

Skyline fascias and soffits were specified on the Becket School
to complement the Armaseam standing seam metal roofing system, also
from Alumasc. Skyline provides a lightweight, durable and totally
weatherproof solution in keeping with the modern appearance of the
new school building with the benefits of efficient installation and
minimal maintenance requirements. Manufactured from high quality,
100% recyclable polyester powder coated aluminium, Skyline is
available in four bold generic shapes plus bespoke designs. |

Guardian downpipes complemented the Skyline system, offering a
contemporary extruded aluminium design. Guardian is perfect for
security conscious applications, with easy to install pipes fitting
completely flush to the wall, making them unclimbable, ungrippable
and resistant to vandalism. Compatible with all Alumasc aluminium
gutter systems, Guardian is available in a wide range of colours and
circular, square and rectangular profiles. |

Finally, the Derbigum high performance waterproofing membrane was
chosen for its exceptional long-term performance and durability. BBA
Approved, Derbigum is warranted for 25 years and manufactured under
the ISO 14001:2004 and EMAS Environmental Management Standards. It
is fire rated F.AA to BS476 Pt3 (EN1187 Pt4), the highest available
rating, which allows unrestricted use under Building Regulations.
